It's been 12 years since my last review of Golden Wok, been coming here since the 90's. Food is still very good, especially the Hot & Sour Soup. I recently tried their Szechuan Beef, they nailed it, high quality tender meat. There are very few Chinese restaurants as good as this, (we drive 9 miles each way to get their food). They have gone to a Carry-Out only format. when they tell you food will be ready at a certain time, it always is.
The food is authentic Chinese. They have the best food since I stopped going to Lom Ling years ago. I'm grateful Golden Wok Lombard is still in business.
Placed a large order for an office party and it was so great! The service was excellent, and everyone loved the food so much. Highly recommend the Golden Wok II to everyone and anyone who is in the area! It's rare to come by a restaurant that so overtly cares about customers, quality, and service. Five stars, will be coming back again!
Sesame chicken and beef fried rice from Golden Wok II are my favorite dishes here . I dare you to find a place that can beat their sesame chicken flavor! This was a staple in my childhood. I didn't visit for years until I said out loud "there are no great Chinese food places in this area!". That caused me to revisit this location and I'm glad I gave it another chance. Will be back many times , regardless of how far away I may live. Simply excellent food!
Unfortunately the dining room is not open, due to staffing issues. We all enjoyed our meals tonight. The Mongolian Beef had the perfect heat and the egg rolls were delicious. Others enjoyed the chicken broccoli and beef broccoli. Small serving is definitely enough for leftovers. Everything was perfectly cooked and we're looking forward to leftovers, they'll likely taste even better tomorrow. Very reasonably priced too.
I served fried rice with orange chicken and a spring roll. The entire package was delicious. I really don't understand why it is rated as 3,5 stars. I usually don't like this type of food that much but I loved every piece of this meal. The portion was so big that I will have another meal for dinner. It is, definitely, a great place to order your food from. The picture is of orange chicken.
